General Larry Platt transcended the age gap and the race gap in one single, self-expressive swoop.
And it seems that the control heads over at Idol thought they were airing just another blooper audition, but... they got it wrong.  Thanks to the web, Larry Platt's Idol gaff has turned into a viral sensation.

The clip was supposed to be a joke, where America laughs at the fool, but it backfired with a vengeance.
With mouths agape after a few days of monitoring America's social buzz numbers, Fox Broadcasting/American Idol finally caught on and chose to use Platt's performance in their promos during the NFL playoff coverage last week.
See, even the people who are supposed to know the biz actually really don't. They're just guessing like the rest of us.
Gotta put Larry's performance into the Man Cave Chronicle Vault.
